About Us

It started with building a few guitars back in high school, then after college discovering his passion for building violins.  Luthier, Joseph Conrad, has worked at his craft since 1986. Fortunate to have apprenticed with Dr. Carleen Hutchins, one the most celebrated researchers into the acoustics of violins, violas and cellos, this experience  gave him an intricate knowledge of the complex workings of the violin. This plus a true passion for what he does, is what separates his instruments from others. From the selection of the wood, to the pattern used as the model, to the hours spent building his instruments, and to the knowledge that only experience can teach, all culminating in violins, violas, and cellos that have found their way to concert halls across the country.
