Violas
I build violas from 15 ½ inches up to 16 ½ inches. The patterns very from an Amati, to a Castagneri to a Guarneri, and most are a combination of patterns that have proven themselves with the results that people seem to enjoy very much. Violas are a lot of fun to build because they have never been standardized to one size like the violin. So you are always able to try something new and different. With some selected old wood that was made available to me, the results have been well received by players across the country and in Europe. I have also built custom violas for people that have had hand troubles and the like. It is always best to call to see what is in the shop and what I am working on. Sometimes I can change the order of things to get you a viola that will fit you just right.
